Insomnia is a common sleeping disorder many of us experience in at least one point in our lives. This disorder is caused by several reasons. Traumatic events like death of a family member, relative or a friend may trigger insomnia in a person. Depression also often leads to insomnia due to the fact that a person’s mind is subjected to too much stress that keeps the person from getting enough sleep and rest.
Secondary insomnia is caused by other current conditions of a person like obesity, heart diseases, asthma, arthritis and heartburn to name a few. Insomnia drugs and medications are given usually for chronic types of insomnia or those which occur over several months and are not treated even if the person avoids caffeine or other avoidable causes of insomnia.
